Meetings
Posted by admin on July 11th, 2008 filed in UncategorizedSo, I was in a meeting today. It was really interesting, as I was invited to a decision making meeting on re-factoring the entire network. Now, I was able to provide some information from my perspective as a student, but I really am not entirely sure why I was there. At least I was paid, and there was food, so it’s all good. There’s a family reunion tomorrow and my friends are going to Footloose, so it’s either one or the other since it’s a pretty far trip to the reunion (2.5 hours both ways). It’s frustrating, but I guess it means I just get to go to it next week.
In other news, there is the Push Database that I’m going to be debugging on Monday. The Jr. Flight we ran crashed miserably on the network side, which was really bad from my perspective. I’m going to fire up the Jr. Controls in the Odyssey and see what I can do to figure out what’s going wrong. It’s very frustrating, but I’m confident that I’ll be able to get it online in time.
In other news, I’ve been reading “Public Speaking for Success” by Dale Carnegie. It’s an interesting tome, full of good points and wisdom regarding the subject, but I really like the Appendix. It has a few essays and lectures that exemplify good public speaking as well as the “success” mindset that empowers really great public speakers. I finished “Acres of Diamonds” last night and I’m going to reading “A Message to Garcia” tonight. Both highly remarkable books.
