An update on everything
Posted by admin on October 22nd, 2008 filed in UncategorizedJust a brief word on everything that’s going on right now. Bard That! hasn’t hit the app store yet, but it’ll be here any day now. Our other apps are probably going to be released this weekend. I’m making it through classes better now than last week. I got an A- on my Philosophy paper (AAAHH!!) which was a great stress reliever. The jury is still out on my mission prep paper, but we’ll see what happens there. It’s Nate’s birthday this weekend and we’re coming up with stuff to do that is neither school nor work related (thank goodness). And I’ve decided I need to really pick up my dietary habits, so I’m budgeting in more money and time to make really good food. Last night was Chili, tonight will be sub sandwiches, tomorrow will be burrito mix, I think I’ll wing it on friday, and saturday will be french onion soup for Nate’s B-day (I might kick that back to Friday depending on the plans for saturday, though, which could be good). I have a great appreciation for well prepared meals, because I really feel the performance difference in myself when I eat well versus when I eat infrequently or improperly (no, I’m not eating 100% cereal – typically only for breakfast, and that’s tops two bowls, sometimes with a bananna, and usually orange juice).
It’s still easier than high school, but not in terms of work. Considering work as a function of effort/reward, High school had a high effort but a very very low reward, thereby kicking the overall work pretty high into the stratosphere. College takes a lot more effort (I’d say about 300% or so more), but the reward is incredibly high (Every second feels very valuable to me), so the overall work involved is reduced because it can be so enjoyable. Now, some times it’s not very fun, but I laugh through the hard times because I can, and it feels good. Everything is going really well, overall. I just need to hang on for dear life and try to meet the challenges as they come and go.
