About

Welcome to my blog. I am Brent Anderson, a Computer Science Major at BYU who enjoys leveraging the power of technology as a tool in business and society. I love my friends like my family (Away from home your friends really become your family) and try to serve those around me in my own unique capacities. I’m a big fan of instrumental music, however music in general is wonderful. I love to appreciate art, film, literature, music, and tend to include in those categories pieces such as landscapes (real ones, like an actual mountain or forest), well designed and beautifully executed endeavors (be it a team developing a piece of software or an orchestra performing a piece of music), and personal accomplishment. I’m very much an individualist who believes that every person on Earth is born and blessed with a measure of gifts and talents, and that it is his or her responsibility to take what they have been given and make the most of it, even if it isn’t much (Matthew 25:14-30 will tell you all about it). Although I am an individualist, I do believe that in order to realize your true capacity, you must be capable of loving, learning from, and working with others.

I suppose that my thoughts on life are reflected in my preferences in recreation, as I love to participate in individual-based competitive sports like rock climbing, swimming, and weight lifting. I do love good competition, however, and believe that competition is the foundation for true greatness in individual and collective achievement.

In addition to what I have learned from study and experience, I inherit much of my identity from the LDS faith. I am a Latter Day Saint and try to follow, represent, and teach to others the Gospel of Jesus Christ. www.Mormon.org can go in to a lot more detail than I can on this blog if you’re curious.

On my list of favorite books are The Book of Mormon, The New Testament, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, books by Dale Carnegie, books by Robert Kiosaki, the works of CS Lewis, and any book that I believe will help me accomplish my goals.

I have fun in everything that I do, but any time with Christie, Mikayla, and Nate (regardless of what we’re doing) is wonderful. I’m keeping a “happy list” that includes everything we do which you can check out under the category of “Happy List” or “Lizzie Trio”.
